Microblading Eyebrows
At Beautiful You Birmingham we offer the very latest in semi-permanent make-up which has been around for years, Cleopatra is accepted to have had cosmetic tattooing. The art of tattooing done by hand is an old Japanese craft though Microblading is relatively new in the Western world; the natural finish, which is created by this method, is proving increasingly popular as it does not go as deep as traditional tattooed eyebrows meaning they last up to 2 years and then over time fade naturally with no scarring.

A brief explanation “Microblading is a form of semi permanent makeup and is performed by manually depositing pigment in the basal layer of the epidermis. It does not involve the use of a machine; the technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that are more natural looking than tattooing, brow pencils or powders. The blade glides with gentle pressure over the skin and causes fine cuts. The cuts are as fine as a paper cut giving a natural eyebrow look”.
Before being accepted for Eyebrow Microblading treatment we must check that you do not have any medical conditions that would prevent the treatment going ahead, and Doctors permission maybe required before proceeding. A patch test will be carried out to ensure that you are not allergic to the products used.
For your comfort a numbing cream & solution will be used to limit discomfort and following the Eyebrow Microblading treatment we advise you use an ointment that we sell at £20 per pot that is antimicrobial, that will also speed up the healing process and protect the colour”. Our microblading therapist Julie Nixon is licensed: insured and trained to level 4 VTCT.
The process takes 2 hours, during that time an Eyebrow Microblading consultation form will be completed, numbing cream applied, colour and shape agreed with the client, eyebrows measured, drawn on and sign off by the client on the shape before the blading begins. You will need to return 4 – 6 weeks later for a top up, as the brows will fade during the first healing process. The brow will last up to 2 years.
Advice for all semi-permanent make-up procedures:
Alcohol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen and blood thinning medication must be avoided at least 48 hours prior to Eyebrow Microblading procedure
Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor
Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may be swollen or red, it is advised not to make social plans for the same day
Please wear normal makeup to the salon on the day of the procedure
The microblading treatment will only go ahead with the outcome of a negative patch test
We do not allow family or friends in the treatment room with you
Please ensure eyebrows are waxed at least 48 hours before, electrolysis no less than 5 days before the procedure
A touch up will be required between 4-6 weeks, the colour will be sharper and darker but will subside and become lighter as the tissue heals which can take up to 10 days
To maintain the colour for as long as possible avoid excessive exposure to the sum or UV rays and use a good sunscreen or moisturiser SPF 30
